Description

Cole Herden-Thormahlen is years old and has been a member of the Belfry Busy Beavers for 7 years. Some hobbies and interests include Riding horses and working on pickups with my dad and other 4-H projects like, Breeding Beef.

This year, they are offering for sale, George, a Black Angus Steer. George is Home-Raised from Herden Farms and currently on a Hay and Corn feed program.

Here's what Cole Herden-Thormahlen has to say about George: George was born on 2/12/2019 to a 8 year old cow. His mom has a bad hip, but she still raised one of our largest calves. He was weaned in the end of October 2019. From October until January 11th, 2020 he was on hay and 5 pounds of corn per day. In January I gradually started increasing his corn until he reached full feed. He weighed 795 pounds at steer weigh on January 11th, 2019. On 6/18 I weighed him and he was weighing 1200 pounds. He is a black Angus steer with lots of great features. He has a nice round rump and good length and height. We feed our steers free choice on hay and corn. We always have great compliments from the butchers on how nice the meat is on our beef.

Thank you for your interest in George!
