Description

Cole Herden-Thormahlen is 15 years old and has been a member of the Belfry FFA for 3 years. Some hobbies and interests include Riding horses and working on pickups with my dad and other 4-H projects like, Breeding Beef.

This year, they are offering for sale, Tatanka, a Black Angus Cross steer. Tatanka is Home raised from Herden Farms and currently on a Free choice hay and corn feed program.

Here's what Cole Herden-Thormahlen has to say about Tatanka: Tatanka was born on 2/15/2019 to a 6 year old cow. His mom is a short horn cross cow and his father is a black Angus. When Tatanka was born he was chosen to be a calf for the fair because of his great build. He was weaned in the end of October 2019. From October until January 11th, 2020 he was on hay and 5 pounds of corn per day. In January I gradually started increasing his corn until he reached full feed. He weighed 830 pounds at steer weigh on January 11th, 2019. On 6/18 I weighed him and he was weighing 1195 pounds. He is a black Angus cross steer with lots of great features. He has a nice round rump and good length and height, one of his best qualities is how square this steer is from front to back. We feed our steers free choice on hay and corn. We always have great compliments from the butchers on how nice the meat is on our beef.

Thank you for your interest in Tatanka!
