Crystal Brubaker is 15 years old and has been a member of the Cottonwood Cowchips for 8 years. Some hobbies and interests include I love riding horses, working cows, skiing, I draw and paint, showing steers and pigs and other 4-H projects like, Breeding gilt .

This year, they are offering for sale, MARIO, a Crossbred Barrow. MARIO is from Purchased from: Shaffer's Goldrush. Raised at: my home and currently on a I feed Purina 18% protein and add supplements such as rolled oats, ultra full, and heavyweight. feed program.

Here's what Crystal Brubaker has to say about MARIO: Hi, My name is Crystal Brubaker, I work and live on my family's ranch, I work cows and ride horses at least once a week and I love doing that, and being able to live in the country. I am very grateful. I have been showing pigs since I was 8, and before that I was helping my brothers show and help farrow out the sows we had. When I was a clover bud I thought it wasn't fair that I couldn't show yet, I really just wanted to raise my own pig and show him. When that day came I was very happy but then I realized how difficult it was to train pigs :) the first pig I ever had was named dumbo. Now 8 years later I have been to a whole lot of shows with my pigs and steers, it's a really great thing for kids I think because it teaches them responsibility, and for me at least I feel very accomplished after the 4-H year especially if I know I did my very best. One thing I have learned while training my pigs is stay calm and patient, pigs are very smart and if you start freaking out if they are not acting good it just makes it stressful and not fun so stay calm and have fun! Also if you take your animal to a show and you don't take first place don't be a spoiled sport it's definitely hard to lose sometimes but it teaches you what you did wrong and that way you can work on the problem. I raised my own pigs for a couple years and that was a great experience having to stay up in the middle of the night was not so much fun but the reward was 10 or so baby pigs and that is pretty fun! Last year I decided to get my pigs from the same guy we had bought semen from , so we drove back to Albany Indiana and got my three pigs, that was pretty cool! Terry Shaffer gave us a tour and talked a lot about the show pig world and business.

I thank all of you buyers who are taking time out of your busy day to read kids letters and support 4-H, FFA, and ag. Sincerely, Crystal Brubaker.

Thank you for your interest in MARIO!
