- Final Price: $480.00
Deaver, WY – 105–110 Weaned Steer Calves at 575 lbs avg. Shipping Jan 19–23, 2026.
This is the front end of the calf crop—big-framed, green, hardy grass cattle that have been run in rough country in the summer and are built to grow as long as you need them to. These steers were weaned in early October and will be long weaned, just short of 90 days by the time they ship.
They come from a primarily Black Angus herd that has been incorporating more Hereford influence in the bull battery to maximize heterosis and growth. Expect lots of black baldies with good disposition, frame, and muscle.
This is a front-end sort, pulled to be the best end of the calves with plenty of bone and frame. Calves are being fed a hay/straw mix with beet pulp—no grain. Flesh will be light, cattle will be green, and health will be excellent.
These are top-quality grass cattle that will explode when you decide to turn them out. This set has been marketed as grass cattle for several years.
