Description

Three Forks, MT – 77 Feeder Steers at 825 lbs avg. Shipping Feb 3–6. This is a straight forward, honest set of feeder steers—plainer kind, but good cattle that will feed and perform. Not a fancy single iron set, but a practical, workable group with potential.

These steers are 70% Black/BWF, 15% Red, and 15% Charolais cross. Frame is medium/large with adequate muscle and light/med flesh. Quality is solid, good choice cattle we'd expect to make the 1550 to 1600 lb range.

Cattle were purchased through out of Twin Falls, Idaho and currently in a feedlot getting a TMR ration to gain 2.2 to 2.5 lbs/day. They are being fed a high-roughage ration consisting of approximately 20 lbs silage, 13 lbs alfalfa, 4 lbs grass hay, 8 lbs corn, plus mineral with Rumensin. Flesh is the light side of medium currently, and cattle are set up to deliver performance.

These are honest, feeder steers—not the fanciest looking set, but these guys always get the right kind that would feed out. They're hardy, easy to manage steers with the ability to make money!
