It’s Not About What You Say, It’s About What You Do...
The most important things when buying cattle are clear communication and getting exactly what you paid for.
You’ve likely already noticed that our listings feature high-quality video, detailed management history, and transparent terms. ConneXion's Online Marketplace was built to completely represent cattle right and provide buyers with more information in an easy-to-use, stress-free platform.
We pride ourselves on our communication—especially when delivering cattle to buyers who are trusting us for the first time, sight unseen. We know that in the cattle business, your word is your bond, and our family-run team is committed to being your trusted 'eyes in the country.'
Though the Sellers pay our commission, our business can’t continue without the trust and participation of our buyers. So, we are equally incentivized to ensure fairness and protect our clients on both sides of a transaction.
Representation
Our reps in the field go out and look at the cattle with our own eyes, so we can describe them correctly. We capture quality video, and set clear terms with our sellers, not leaving details to chance. That information is then communicated to you through our marketplace in a way that is simple, convenient, and transparent. When you look at a lot on ConneXion, you are seeing the cattle exactly as they are.
Communication
Our reps are present at deliveries to weigh, sort and load the cattle to be as close to what was represented as possible. We make it a priority to call and report back to you before the trucks are even loaded. It's not always possible in bad service areas, but if there is anything out of the ordinary, we make it a point to contact you immediately.
Reps will also call the following day to check the cattle met expectations and get any feedback.
Experience
In the cattle business, problems inevitably arise. We won’t pretend every deal is perfect—anyone who’s been in the cattle business knows better. Our team has been in the cattle business, buying, selling, shipping, and feeding cattle for more than 30 years. We've dealt with lots of different challenges over the years and have the experience to overcome them.
Security through Escrow
At ConneXion, every transaction is facilitated through a Licensed Escrow Trust. It is the only way to provide a 100% guarantee of safety for all parties involved. ConneXion is a licensed fiduciary, meaning that we are bound not only by our personal integrity but by law to protect the interests of our clients at all times. This requirement isn’t just a procedure; it’s a protection that puts the Buyer and the Seller on the same side.
The regulations governing our licensed escrow account are far more strict than anything required by the Packers and Stockyards Act. This is a highly regulated, neutral territory where funds are legally protected. It isn't just a "company policy"—it is a legal framework designed to protect the integrity of the deal.
- Escrow is the process by which a Buyer must pay the full contract dollar amount at least 1 business day prior to the shipping day of the cattle.
- These Funds are held by our third-party Escrow Company. This confirms the funds are ready and places them in neutral territory.
- Cattle are weighed sorted and shipped. There is a 24 hour inspection period for you to inspect the cattle and confirm they are as represented.
- Funds are only released to the seller after the 24 hour inspection period or your earlier approval.
- Any differences in final dollar amounts will be either wired back to the buyer immediately, or billed after delivery, in which you can send a check for the balance.
How It Works
- Discovery - View the information and videos about the cattle for sale on our Show List. If you have questions, you can use our internal messaging system, or you can call. There is a Representative Contact with the name and phone number attached to every lot. This is the person that knows the cattle best and will likely be the one there to load them. Feel free to Call and ask them any questions.
- Making a Bid - You can initiate a purchase through the website or by calling the Rep or Sales Manager.
- Buy at the Ask - Selecting "Buy Now" initiates your intent to purchase the cattle at the asking price under the terms attached to the contract.
- Make an Offer - If you wish to negotiate price or terms, you can submit a bid by clicking "Make Offer" or by calling us directly.
- Successful Purchase - After initiating a successful purchase, you'll be sent a sales contract and an invoice.
- Down payments required for cattle forward contracted 3+ weeks out from delivery
- If cattle are shipping within 3 weeks, we'll send an Escrow invoice for the full purchase dollar amount, due in Escrow PRIOR to the cattle shipping
- Most buyers wire funds the business day before the cattle are due to ship.
- Shipping Day - Cattle are weighed and sorted to best fit the contract specs as represented. Reps will contact Buyers prior to loading to report the weights and condition of the cattle.
- Final Settlement - Because final weights always vary, Escrow Dollars will likely be different from the Final Dollar amount.
- If the total is lower: The difference is wired back to you ASAP (or via your preferred method).
- If the total is higher: We will send a bill for the balance, which you can pay via check after the cattle arrive.
- Inspection Period - In accordance with Escrow terms you, as the Buyer have a 24 hour inspection period to approve the cattle were represented correctly.
- Follow Up & Funds Released - Our reps check in with buyers after the cattle arrive to make sure they met expectations. After the 24-hour period (or your earlier approval), funds are released to the seller.
