Mobridge, South Dakota — 55 Unweaned Steer Calves ~ May 10
Solid, home-raised set of fall-born calves coming off a good, practical cow herd. These calves are out of 100% Angus cows bred to horned Hereford bulls, giving you a set of black and black baldy cattle with hybrid vigor, performance, and maternal strength built in. Calves were born August 20 through October 20, offering a defined window with enough spread to still make a powerful weigh-up.
This is a reputation set that will sort up clean—coming out of approximately 135 head, with steers sorted from around 65 and heifers from around 65. No replacements are being held back, so you’re getting the full offering.
These calves are raised on native pasture and supplemented with long hay through the winter. They’ve been handled right, knife cut in early November, and are backed by a full calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program. They are not implanted. Coming off cows selected for moderate frame (1300–1400 lbs), good udders, and maternal function, with sires chosen for muscling and performance—this set is built to gain and grow.
Cattle will be gathered, trailed approximately 2 miles, sorted, and weighed on the ground with a 2% shrink
