A real good set of 150 black Angus heifer calves coming from the same reputation program near Mobridge, South Dakota. These heifers are home-raised and backed by a practical Angus cow herd selected for moderate frame, maternal ability, udder quality, milk, confirmation, and performance.
These cattle come out of big country and are the kind that are built to be hardy, practical, and tough. The cow herd is made up of 1,300–1,400 lb Angus cows, with sires selected for muscling and performance. The producer rates this set as a 9 out of 10 quality kind, with medium frame, good healthy flesh, and the right build to go on and perform.
These heifers will be sorted into a straight black Angus load, with baldies and other colors sorted off. They are coming from the same calf crop as the steer mates, raised on native dryland pasture, backed by a calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program, and are not implanted.
