Fancy Western Montana Heifers | Growth, Frame & Maternal Power Behind Them
Per CWT
Stevensville, MT – 90 Black Angus Heifer Calves at 630 lbs - Ship Oct. 15
A strong set of 90 black-hided heifer calves from Stevensville, Montana. These cattle come from two neighboring ranches that use similar genetics, management, and health programs, allowing them to partner together and offer a uniform, like-kind set of calves.
These heifers are primarily Black Angus with a small percentage of black baldies and a few brockle-faced calves. They are backed by big, productive 1,400–1,500 lb Black Angus, black baldy, and brockle-faced cows, and are sired by growth-oriented Black Angus bulls selected for muscling, performance, and carcass quality. The bull programs include 3C Cattle Company and Never Sweat Ranch.
This is a good-quality Western Montana set with maternal strength and feedlot value both built in. The heifers have the kind, frame, body, and genetic backing to make a strong feeding set, while still coming from a cow herd focused on practical maternal function and weaning heavy calves. They are medium-fleshed, healthy, and have enough frame to grow into big finishing cattle.
The sellers are keeping approximately 20 head of replacements, with a few lighter heifers available to sort off as needed. The final offering should be a good, practical sort of heifers from a tight-calving, well-managed ranch program. These heifers are not implanted and are not Bangs vaccinated. They will ship unweaned around October 15.
Health program includes branding shots of BoviShield Gold and Vision 8, followed by pre-weaning vaccinations of BoviShield Gold One Shot and Vision 8 Somnus.
Weighing conditions: AM gather, weigh on the ground with a 2% shrink.
