Solid Mouth Angus Cow Calf Pairs | Rochester, Minnesota View Watchlist >
Good solid mouth pairs with frame, maternal strength, practical production kind
Per Head
Rochester, Minnesota – 38 Black Angus and BWF Cow Calf Pairs at 1400 lbs, calving April 10 to June 10, shipping late June.
Good set of solid mouth pairs along with a package of younger 4–6 year old cows that make up a productive, practical group of ranch cows. These are the kind of cows built around functionality and longevity — good-bodied females with frame, good dispositions, and the ability to consistently raise a heavy calf year after year.
This herd was developed from younger bred cows sourced out of South Dakota and has been run in a straightforward commercial environment focused on maintaining productive cows that work for a living. Seller normally keeps these cows through solid mouth age and markets them as fall breds, but due to losing a grass lease this year they are being offered as pairs instead.
Cows are predominantly Black Angus and Black Whiteface with roughly 15% red-hided influence. Bred naturally to Black Angus bulls with a few Charolais sires utilized for added growth and pounds without sacrificing cow functionality. Seller states these cows generally wean a 600 lb steer calf and continue to stay productive on grass and hay.
Pairs calve from April 10 through June 10, with calves averaging around two weeks old at shipping time in the latter half of June. Calves are tagged and cows are currently running on pasture with hay supplementation. Cows are in good working shape with enough condition to travel and go right to work.
This is a practical set of mature ranch pairs that still have production left in front of them. For buyers looking to add cows with proven maternal ability, disposition, and calf-raising power without paying top-end young cow prices, this is a good honest set that offers real-world value.
