Large Sort on a Set of Growthy Black Angus and Black Baldy steer calves
Per CWT
Grassy Butte, North Dakota – 100 Black Angus, Black Baldy, and Red Angus Steer Calves at 525 lbs, shipping November 5, 2026.
Good set of ranch-raised steer calves coming from a practical commercial outfit in western North Dakota. These calves are predominantly Black Angus and Black Baldy with a smaller percentage of Red Angus influence and offer a nice combination of frame, body, and natural growth potential. A very practical set for grass buyers, backgrounders, or feedyard operators looking for green calves with upside.
This offering will be sorted as a large cut out of approximately 160 head, allowing buyers access to the bigger, stronger end of the calf crop. Quality is described as an 8 out of 10 kind with enough consistency to put together an attractive load while still maintaining the natural variation expected in a larger offering.
These steers are carrying medium flesh and are in good healthy condition heading into the fall run. Seller expects them to mature into the 1400–1500 lb range with the frame and growth genetics to continue performing after turnout or on feed. Long-bodied calves with enough size and stretch to continue adding pounds efficiently.
Cattle will be gathered the morning of shipping from two pastures and hauled 15+ miles before weighing straight off the ground. Weight spread will show some normal variation, but there are enough cattle here to make a strong sort and very marketable load. These are green, non-weaned calves with the kind of look and condition that should fit a variety of programs.
- Calves have received a solid calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program including Titanium 5, Ultra 7, and pinkeye vaccinations. A straightforward set of calves that have been managed right and are ready to go on and perform for their next owner.s
