The cow herd consists primarily of Red Angus and Black Angus females weighing 1,300-1,400 pounds. Maternal ability, structural correctness, fertility, and longevity are key priorities within the breeding program. Black Baldy calves are raised from F1 cross females, adding hybrid vigor and maternal strength, while the red calves are out of a consistent Red Angus cow base and Red Angus sires.
Bulls are sourced from Heart River, Waasem Red Angus, Schriefer Red Angus, and Dukart Angus programs with muscling and performance emphasized during sire selection. The cattle will be gathered in the morning, sorted from their dams, hauled approximately 30 miles to the Big Flat Scale at Halliday, sized, and weighed straight off the ground.
