This is a nice set of home-raised yearling heifers coming from a long-term ranch program in south-central Montana. These heifers are approximately 60% Red and Red White Face with the balance Black and Black White Face. With over 90 days of weaning and a solid feeding program behind them, they are ready to go to work in a variety of operations.
These heifers are carrying plenty of condition and have been developed on chopped hay, silage, and approximately three pounds of barley per day. They are fleshy, healthy, and have continued to perform well through the development phase. The cattle are medium to larger framed with the genetics to mature into the 1,400 to 1,500 lb range.
Being 100% home-raised adds confidence in the consistency and management behind the group. The cattle have received a complete calfhood and pre-weaning health program and have been weaned for more than 90 days. Buyers looking for a set of heifers that are already accustomed to feed and have the condition to continue gaining should appreciate this offering.
