Dickinson, North Dakota – 110 Black Angus & Black Baldy Steer Calves at 550 lbs, shipping October 20.
This offering features the top cut of 110 steers sorted from 140 head. These reputation calves come from a longtime North Dakota producer and represent a high-quality set of ranch-raised cattle with the consistency, muscle, and performance buyers look for. Predominantly Black Angus and Black Baldy with a small Charolais influence, this is a practical set of calves that should work equally well on grass or headed into a feeding program.
The cow herd is built around moderate 1,300-1,400 pound females selected for maternal ability, sound structure, and longevity. Angus and Hereford genetics provide a strong maternal foundation while maintaining the hybrid vigor, growth, and efficiency that make Black Baldy cattle so popular with cattle feeders. Muscling and performance remain key priorities in sire selection.
These calves originate from a 60-day calving season and offer good overall uniformity with enough variation to make a quality sort. Medium framed, healthy, and attractive, they are the hardy kind that have been developed under practical ranch conditions on native North Dakota pasture.
Bull calves were knife cut in May and the cattle have received both calfhood and pre-weaning vaccinations. No implants have been used. They will be gathered early, hauled approximately 30 miles, sorted, and weighed straight on the ground prior to shipment.
Buyers looking for a reputation set of crossbred steers with maternal backing, hybrid vigor, and solid feeding potential will appreciate this offering.
