Fancy yearling steers with quality and uniformity
Ruby, Montana – 262 Black Yearling Steers at 900 lbs, shipping October 24.
This is a quality offering of 262 yearling steers sorted from 272 head. Predominantly black hided with approximately 83% Black Angus, 15% Black Baldies, and just 2% Red, these steers are a very uniform set with the frame, condition, and performance to fit today's feeding industry. The light sort from the original group leaves buyers with an attractive, consistent load ready to go to work.
These steers were started on irrigated pasture before being turned out on mountain range for the summer, then brought back to irrigated pasture ahead of shipping. This development program has produced athletic, growth-oriented cattle carrying a healthy flesh condition while maintaining the muscle and capacity buyers expect in quality yearlings.
The cattle have received a complete post-weaning booster vaccination program, including Pyramid 5 + Presponse, Fusogard, Solidbac, Vision 8, and Synovex S implants. They have been managed under a solid health program and are ready to transition directly into the next phase of production.
Only 10 head were sorted from the original group of 272, resulting in a very even offering with excellent load-to-load consistency. Cattle will be gathered the morning of shipping and weighed on the ground with a 3% pencil shrink.
