Belgrade, Montana – 150 Black Angus Bred Heifers weighing approximately 1,000 lbs, calving April 1–30.

This is an exceptional offering of 150 Black Angus bred heifers developed specifically for a tight April calving program. Purchased as replacement-quality females from premier replacement heifer special sales in Miles City, Montana, and Dickinson, North Dakota, these heifers were selected for genetic quality, phenotype, and maternal value. Buyers looking for uniform, functional females that are ready to go to work will appreciate the amount of sorting and selection behind this offering.

Originally, 291 heifers were exposed, with an expected 60% in the first breeding cycle. From that group, approximately 174 head will be available for sorting before being narrowed to this top offering of 150 bred heifers. Each load will be a gate cut of approximately 58 head, allowing the buyer or representative to sort eight head and create uniform 50-head loads.

The heifers are bred by natural service to low birth weight Angus bulls, with approximately 90% sired by Indreland Angus and 10% by Pharoah Angus. This breeding program emphasizes calving ease, maternal strength, fertility, and longevity while maintaining the performance expected from quality Angus genetics. Ultrasound pregnancy testing will cut off any females bred after May 1, resulting in a uniform 30-day calving window from April 1 through April 30.

These females are 100% black hided and originate from high-percentage Black Angus and Angus-cross genetics, including select Angus-Simmental and Angus-Hereford females. Developed on rotationally grazed irrigated hay meadows, they have been maintained in the ideal condition for bred heifers and are carrying the kind of flesh buyers like to see heading into calving.

The heifers have received a comprehensive health program, including Bangs vaccination, Nasalgen IP, Vision 8 Somnus, Vista Once SQ, and Safeguard in the fall of 2025, followed by Virashield 6 + VL5 HB and Cydectin prior to breeding. They are expected to weigh approximately 1,000 pounds at pregnancy check in late September.
