This is a quality set of 75 home-raised Angus cross calves that will be 30-plus days weaned by shipping. Approximately 97% of the offering is Black Angus or Black White Face, with the balance Charolais cross. The cattle are fairly even and come in a practical, healthy condition, making this a strong mixed load for buyers looking for weaned calves with plenty of feeding flexibility.
Cows and calves are turned onto irrigated pasture in mid-May and remain there through the grazing season. At weaning, calves spend several days in close-up corrals on dry long-stem grass hay before returning to mixed alfalfa/grass irrigated pasture. This program gives the calves time to settle, transition onto feed, and get started before shipment.
The calves have been raised under a consistent health program from birth through weaning, including calfhood and pre-weaning vaccinations, respiratory protection, 8-way protection, and routine deworming. They will be 30-45 days weaned and ready to transition into their next program by shipping.
Cattle will be gathered in the morning, hauled approximately seven miles, and weighed with a 1% shrink. The combination of home-raised genetics, irrigated pasture, a solid health program, and 30-plus days of weaning makes this an attractive November offering.
