Stanford, Montana – 127 Charolais-influenced heifer calves at 535 lbs, shipping October 17, 24, or 31.

This is a quality offering of home-raised heifer calves from Neuman Charolais, featuring predominantly Charolais-sired cattle out of a practical commercial cow herd. These heifers offer strong growth potential, hybrid vigor, and the ability to perform in a variety of feeding programs.

The offering is expected to be approximately 93% Charolais Cross and 7% Red White Face. The producer has 134 heifers to sort from, with approximately 127 head expected to make the offering. A small percentage of Black Angus and Red heifers will be retained as replacements.

The cow herd consists primarily of medium-sized, 1,300–1,400 lb females selected for conformation, maternal ability, and milking ability. The majority of the sires are Charolais bulls from Brevig and Cobb programs, selected specifically for muscling and performance. These genetics provide the heifers with plenty of frame and growth potential, with estimated mature weights in the 1,500–1,600 lb range.

The heifers are in good, healthy condition with medium flesh and a body condition score of approximately 3. Due to drought conditions, the calves are expected to be somewhat more uneven this year, but they remain a good choice for buyers looking for hardy, growth-oriented cattle with the ability to add value with the right inputs.

The calves have received a complete calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program, including Vision 8 Somnus and Pyramid 5 Presponse. They have been grazing native dryland pasture and, due to drought conditions, will be marketed directly off the cow rather than being weaned and carried over as they normally would be.

Cattle will be gathered from two summer pastures, with one group hauled approximately 15 miles and the other hauled more than 50 miles. They will be weighed straight on the ground following the long morning gather.
