This is a home-raised set of 85 Black Angus steer calves from JB Cattle Co. These are medium to large-framed cattle with an estimated mature weight of 1,500–1,600 lbs and a growthy kind that offers buyers plenty of opportunity to continue adding pounds.
The calves have been developed on irrigated pasture and are in light-medium, growthy condition with a good gain curve. The cattle are the kind that can continue to grow and perform through a backgrounding or finishing program.
The calves have received a calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program and are not implanted. They are banded and will be gathered in the morning and weighed on the ground with a 1% shrink.
The group has some weight variation, with approximately +/-20% variance. A $0.25/cwt over/under slide applies with 25-lb weight stops.
The cattle are located 12 miles southwest of Helena, Montana and are scheduled to ship November 23.
