Elite CharX Calves! Big sort out of 210 head!
Per CWT
Denton, Montana – 160 Charolais Cross steer calves at 590 lbs, shipping October 11.
This is a standout set of home-raised Charolais Cross steers, sorted as the biggest and best end from 210 head. A 25% sort to make the offering exceptionally even, with the front end representing the oldest, highest-performing calves in the group. These are the kind of feeding cattle that can keep growing and can walk a lot of pounds off the yard!
The calves are 100% Charolais Cross, including Black Nose and Buckskin Charolais, sired by big, badass Eaton Charolais bulls. The cow herd consists of Black, Black Baldy and Red Angus cows. The breeding program is built around muscling, performance, growth, and cattle that can carry plenty of pounds through the feeding phase.
These are big-framed, deep-bodied cattle with an estimated mature weight of 1,600–1,700 lbs. They are built to grow, add muscle, and perform in finishing yards, with the genetics and kind to target high-quality finished cattle. The crossbred makeup also brings hybrid vigor and a strong gain curve.
With dry pasture conditions and drought pressure in the area this year, they may come in a little green, but that also leaves plenty of room to put pounds on them. They have been grazing native dryland pasture and regrowth hay meadows.
The cattle are very even as a group, with the light end retained back to go as grass calves while this offering represents a large front-end sort. The cattle will be gathered early in the morning from more than 400 pairs, sorted off the cows and by sex, then weighed on the ground with a 2% shrink.
