Powell, Wyoming – 81 Black and BWF bred heifers at approximately 1,025 lbs, AI bred to calve around March 22, 2027.
These 81 head are the AI-bred March-calving group, sorted separately from the bull-bred April calvers. They are 100% black hided with approximately 20% BWFs and carry a 2-iron. This is a good-bodied, even set of locally sourced heifers with a lot of breeding and selection behind them.
The heifers were AI bred June 11–14 to Arrowhead, a SimAngus calving-ease sire from ABS. The AI-bred group was identified by ultrasound on September 9. Arrowhead brings calving ease, muscle, shape, and maternal genetics to this mating.
These heifers have been running out and developed on a high-roughage ration of hay, straw, silage, and barley. They have been developed practically without becoming overly fleshy. The seller will gate cut and sell in smaller groups for buyers who do not need an entire semi load.
