Boulder, Montana – 78 Black Angus steer calves at 650 lbs, shipping October 28.
This is a set of 100% home-raised feeder steers that are 95% Black Angus with 5% Black Baldy and Charolais Cross influence. These cattle offer buyers a practical set of ranch-raised steers with good health, a solid Angus base, and plenty of room to continue adding pounds.
The cattle have been raised on the cow, grazing native pastures along with irrigated pasture. The program is focused on producing useful, high-quality feeder cattle from a consistent Angus-influenced cow herd.
At 650 lbs, these steers are at a good weight to move into a backgrounding or finishing program. They are in medium, normal flesh and good, healthy condition, leaving room to continue gaining while working toward a high-quality finished product.
The calves have received a thorough calfhood and pre-weaning vaccination program, including Alpha C&D at birth, followed in the spring with Pyramid 5, Vision 8/Somnus, Multimin, and Ivermectin. They are not weaned.
The group has some weight variation and should be expected to take a 7–12% sort. Cattle will be gathered in the morning and weighed on the ground with a 2% pencil shrink.
The cattle are located 10 miles south of Boulder, Montana. Asking $342/cwt at 650 lbs with a $0.16/$0.08 over/under slide and 30-lb weight stops.
