Description

Alyssa Herden-Thormahlen is 18 years old and has been a member of the Belfry Busy Beavers 4-H Club for 10 years. Some hobbies and interests include Rodeo, Showing Animals, Sports. and other 4-H projects like, Breeding Beef.

This year, they are offering for sale, Billy Bob, a Black Angus Cross steer. Billy Bob is Home-Raised from Herden Farms and currently on a Free Choice and corn feed program.

Here's what Alyssa Herden-Thormahlen has to say about Billy Bob: Billy Bob was born on 2/21/2019 to a 11 year old cow. His mom was a brockle face cow and his dad was a black angus. He was weaned in the end of October 2019. From October until January 11th, 2020 he was on hay and 5 pounds of corn per day. In January I gradually started increasing his corn until he reached full feed. He weighed 680 pounds at steer weigh on January 11th, 2019. On 6/18 I weighed him and he was weighing 1050 pounds. He is a black Angus cross steer with lots of great features. Although I would add some length to this steer he has enough width to make up for it. We feed our steers free choice on hay and corn. We always have great compliments from the butchers on how nice the meat is on our beef.

Thank you for your interest in Billy Bob!
