145 head of big-boned, high-growth SimX steer calves Shipping Mid-October at 580 lbs. These 100% black-hided Simmental cross calves come from 1/4 to 1/2 blood Simmental sires and are part of a primarily Angus herd that has been crossed with high-quality, high-growth Simmental genetics. Approximately 10% of the calves are black baldies.
The large-frame cows weigh over 1400 lbs and graze on mountain pastures, resulting in deep, long-bodied calves that will grow big. These calves are consistently healthy, supported by a great vaccination program.
There's too many good steers in this group to sort down to only one load. We'll have opportunities to find more similar quality steers in the area to fill a second truck.
The cattle are gathered off pasture in the morning, sorted off the cow, sorted for sex, and hauled in stock trailers 12 miles to the stockyards in Raynesford, MT.
A very fair deal with a great slide, good weigh up and approximately 10% sorted off the bottom.
