Description

Raton, NM – 185 Steer Calves at 590, ship October 15–20

A strong set of 95% black/BWF and 5% red steer calves, averaging 590 lbs and sorted from about 195 head. These calves are large-medium frame, growthy, and good-bodied, carrying medium flesh in healthy weaning condition.

Out of a medium-framed (1275–1375 lbs) Angus-based cow herd with a some english cross, bred to high-growth McConnell Angus bulls from Nebraska, chosen for power, frame, and performance. All sires are PAP-tested, ensuring they’re a good fit for high elevation environments. These cattle run over 8,000 feet. No risk of heart issues here!

This program focuses on growthy genetics and carcass quality. Calves are high-elevation born and raised—tough, hardy, and healthy, with good hair and the ability to handle weather.
