Description

Nice high growth central MT Calves from 2 producers partnering to make a load. 64/34 head respectively. Quality Angus base cow herd with simmental sires in both programs. Run out on big grazing associations, hauled in from 28 miles out. (Smaller set weighed with 1% shrink being hauled in 10 miles.) Always quality cattle and from guys who know the cattle business. We've fed out the bigger set ourselves in the past and they averaged 1425 at finish with some room in the tank and graded 90% Choice and 47% were Y3s 43% Y1-2s, which really shows off what the continental breeding can do. Weighed 638 last year and always very close to that weight. Rollyson set (34 head) have weighed 660-680 but usually 640-650.

Hilltop Angus, Carr Angus, Koch Simmental, Bulls of the Big Sky Simmental, as well as sires raised from our own A.I. program from the best producing and phenotypic cows on the ranch. Recent A.I. sires include SAV Mustang, SAV Catalyst, SAV Pathfinder, CCR Cowboy Cut, Reich Ripper, Scheiffelbein Allied and more.

We have always received positive feedback on the health of our feeder calves in the feedlot. We select for cattle that can thrive in a harsh environment and produce a quality calf while being able to breed back in an acceptable window. The angus base of the cow herd keeps frame at a manageable size for the available inputs while crossing on Simmental sires to produce a hybrid feeder calf that will grow and perform in the feedlot and on the rail. Replacement heifers and home raised sires have generations of records within the herd to select for the best performing and phenotypic animals to put back into the program.
